My first image this year and the first image created using my new Quad core computer. Well the idea is a bit old (some might even say childish) and I have made some previous unsuccessful attempts to realize it. It is one of those ideas that hunts you until you get it out of your system. Gimp 2.4 with Wacom tablet and a bit of Blender 2.44 (for the basic background). Disclaimer: No, it is not Gandalf, Dumbeldore or Voldemort. The image has no literary basis.

I have worked on this piece during summer of 2007 in really short intervals between writing my thesis. It is hard to talk about the motives behind the image because the process of creation was so long that I forgot what feelings drove me to the original concept (the whole process started almost a year ago). But at the end I have somehow agreed that the picture is dedicated to all the “simple” soldiers who fall in the heat of the battle for the interest of their generals and politicians. This one took me quite a lot of time, more or less because it was done during the exam period at late evening hours (with some ambient music provided by The Gathering).

What can I say about this one ... A few days ago I was watching the sky and found a no-really-so-interesting cloud that reminded me of a dragon ... well the similarity was not that stunning so I had to help it a bit. It is also my first work after months of silence and it feels good that I can draw something again.
