It looks like that job really changes a person. Or the money that a job brings combined with the fact that the person still does not have to pay for all life expenses …

One thing is for sure: I have bought more stuff in the last year than in a few years before. Could be also a coincidence (right … :-S ). My newest “toy” is a Intel Core 2 Quad based computer in a nice GMC X-22 box that you can see on the picture below. The reason for this investment: my old computer was at least five years old (who can remember that far back) and had a lot of problems with large GIMP images. I hope 4 GB will do the trick … for some time …

And the best thing: Ubuntu 7.10 worked (almost) out of the box. The only thing that is obviously still a problem is my Wacom tablet. But nothing impossible to fix :) The era of Infinity (the name of my old computer) is over … it is time for Plasma :)
