Since the project has a Facebook page now I guess it is also time to write a blog post about it. More than half of a year ago I have joined the wlan ljubljana project, first as a designer of the logo. Then I helped with the overall web design and now I am also getting into the actual node hosting.

I do not want to reinvent another description so here is a copy-paste text from the English part of the website:

Around Ljubljana open wireless network is growing. With the use of common and widespread wireless technology but with the innovative approach and above all with the collaboration we connect Ljubljana's public, artistic and cultural, production, educational, research and all other interested spaces and individuals into an autonomous and independent wireless network above Ljubljana, in which there is enough space, freedom and possibilities for new content, interaction and communication, research, data exchange, services and alternative access to Internet content. This way a new media is emerging, free to access, its possibilities limited only by one's imagination and creativity.

As this is a more of a region-based project my appeal goes especially to those of you who live in Ljubljana or it's neighborhood: join the project or at least write about it and mention it to your friends. If you are from somewhere else: remember the network if you by any chance visit Ljubljana ... and use it. That's what it is there for. If you cannot help actively, but you would still like to contribute, consider donating money or equipment.
