A month gone by ...

It has been almost a month from my previous post. Now, either that has been a very very busy month or I have become very very lazy. I guess it must be a bit of both. So I guess now it is time for an update post ... again.

Probably the most important thing in this month (and even before) was the paper that I have written for Computer Vision Winter Workshop The workshop is nothing big, but it is a good way of getting some feedback and since double submissions are allowed I could in theory send the paper also somewhere else unchanged. I need a SCI journal paper badly now so some foundations for it are more than welcome. More about the paper after the workshop. I must say that it has been an interesting and valuable experience writing it (my first real scientific paper) and I expect that the actual workshop will also broaden my horizons.

It seems that I just cannot live without side-projects. Even before I started preparing the presentation for the workshop I knew that I have a terrible time perception during talking in public. And I said to myself: "Why not make an application that would keep the time for me?". Now I know that there are probably hundreds of standalone applications that measure time, but I wanted something special. And what came of it was much bigger then a mere stopwatch. But more about it some other time when I put the application in a publishable form.

More work has also been done on the multitouch project however recently we have encountered some big problems that we never thought of. First we were looking for some really toxic chemicals that we needed. Then we were slowed down by electrical wiring problems ... who would think that putting some wires together is so hard. But more about this in my next multitouch post ... that will be written when we actually solve this problems.

Hm ... looks like I all I have done with this post is that I have made a long post-writing TODO list for myself ... :-S
