Ubuntu 8.10

I have survived the upgrade of my primary home system to the newest version of Ubuntu.

Almost everything went pretty smoothly … I am however surprised that guys have not managed to make Wacom tablet detection a bit more … automatic. Making it work still involves editing xorg.conf and the most surprising thing is that I only had to uncomment my old settings that were disabled by the installer. Checking the Ubuntu wiki I found out that the tabled should be automatically recognized but only the stylus tool. My thought of that is: do not start disabling a perfectly good configuration if the automatic detection is not able to figure out all the capabilities of the device. This only confuses people. At least that is what I think.
