This is actually not news anymore but I will post it here too so that Google will index it better :) If somebody wants to use Axis PTZ cameras in OpenCV (using Vapix protocol) I have written a library that does that. It can be downloaded from my work page There are still some issues to iron out but the library has been rigorously tested by more than a dozen students this semester ... Unfortunately it only runs on Linux, but I will gladly include Windows patch if somebody has time to do it.
