Being a web server administrator is not an easy task. Actually taking care for any other computer but your own is not an easy task. But servers are even trickier. A server runs for months and during that time a lot of the software and configuration changes ... and everything works until you restart the server by coincidence. Then all hell breaks loose.
Something like this happened to me this weekend. After restarting our lab webserver on Friday I have noticed on Saturday that our internal wiki does not work. Checking the logs I have found out that something went wrong with the mod_auth_mysql queries. After restarting mysql server everything worked fine for an hour or so, then the problem repeated.
