Just a quick evening post to clear my head of this CSI series nonsense.

Now I know the series is quite a success ... it has three branches and all that. But what confuses me is that they are trying to create a realistic series with all that science ... and then they use that super powerful image zooming program at least couple of times in ever episode. It does not mater weather the source image is taken from web newspaper or is it a frame from security camera ... with that algorithm you can see everything ... want to see what kind of ring is carrying that guy in the background ... or his face up to every detail. No problem ... we just zoom in ... the image becomes blurry as it is supposed to ... and then we use the top secret CSI image enhancement algorithm ... and the picture becomes even clearer than the original. 4000x zoom? No problem. Just go all the way up to the detail that script writers need to make the script. Some shows are pure fiction ... like Star Trek and Heroes ... and many other (I don't watch that much TV ;) ). But if you are trying to make a quasi real life series then at least stick to the known facts. And those are that super powerful image zooming DOES NOT EXIST. The information of raster images is finite and by that i mean very very finite.

(Yes ... there is a CSI show on our local TV right now but I am rather writing this rant than watching it)
