An unusual work day

I have moved to another room at work today. And that would not be news just like that because my life is just not that boring ... yet. Well the reason for moving remains unclear to me ... but even that is not the point ... let my superiors have their fun.

The reason I am writing this is that the day was my most unusual work day so far. My computer went kaput ... thats why. I knew it would happen someday because it was always a bit unsure about all that "working" thing. Well it was OK while it was turned on but I had to turn it off for the moving. What was wrong ... well the status light blinked in orange color. According to Dell (yes, the computer is a Dell) that means some kind of power issue. Not being sure what to do I have tried the standard scientific approach: put every component out to determine the cause. No luck of course ... damn science ;)

I had no choice then but to call Dell distributor and arrange a repair. I must say it is really easier to do all that stuff when you are representing a big company like faculty and when it is not your money that is being spent. The repair was done in two hours ... just enough time for a lunch. To be continued with: Tracking ping-pong balls.
