MoCo Weekend of Code ...

... or three geeks typing their fingers off There are some tasks that are so extremely boring that you just can not ever even start them on your own. We had such a task at the MoCo project but not anymore. The MoCo project is basically an attempt to create an open source Motorola 68HC11 microprocessor editor and simulator that could be used in courses on computer architecture. And the super-boring task is/was that we had to code every single instruction that 68HC11 supports. For those that know a bit more about computers let me just say that we are talking about CISC class processor so that means a lot of instructions. Like I was saying you can not do tasks as this one on your own. You need some company to keep the mood up. So we (a bunch of computer science enthusiasts) have decided to gather together for a weekend and finally eliminate this progress stopper. Only three actually showed up although some more people promised support ... but fortunately it was enough to get the work done. With this obstacle removed I really hope that the MoCo project will release some kind of alpha version soon. !internal=files/mocowoc1.jpg !internal=files/mocowoc2.jpg
