FreeGeek

Ever wondered what happens to old computers when they are "retired"? Well most of them end up in some third world asian countries, polluting environment in from of giant piles and waiting for the day human kind will discover some clever way to disintegrate matter ... but some of them actually find a second home. FreeGeek is a community that proves once again that some american people are quite OK (unlike their government). FreeGeek is all about recycling old computers, to disassemble them into components and reassemble them again into functional ones. The best thing is that they let potential "adopters" do it ... or more precisely: you contribute in order to "adopt" a computer. It is a great way for people that are scared of computers to get to know them. And they use Linux ... of course. And the kid on this documentary video is really good at PR stuff. Here is a question for Slovenian people: Is Slovenia ready for such a place? Or is the market too small to produce enough old computers?
