Winter solstice

Thursday, 21st of December 2006 AD - day 133

And here we are ... the winter solstice. I had some plans to spend it in Kiruna (above the arctic circle) to experience the all-day darkness, but things don't always (almost never) go the way I want them to go.

In other news: large quantities of excess food supplies have been reported in our corridor kitchen. The phenomenon has been connected to the Christmas Exodus of (exchange) students who have of course left behind all the stuff that they don't need. I have even been given a pair of ice skates for free ... unfortunately I do not ice skate so I will just pass them on to the next lucky (random) person who gets in my way.

And I have completed my last formal visit to the university to get the last papers that I need stamped and signed ... and I am ready to go home! (6 more days).
